VMWare Sender v2.0 is here!

This post is a little later than I would have liked but it has been the kind of working week that wreaks an unpleasant havoc on your spare time. But there’s always a silver lining and that silver lining today is that VMWare Sender v2.0 is tested and ready for public consumption.

I am pleased to say that all of the expected features that were listed in my previous post have made the cut and are present in the new version of vmware sender. You now have the capability to define maps in a configuration file that tell the script what format the output should be in and which Nagios server it should be communicating with.

This allows you to more easily monitor components like Data stores so that you can appropriately map the data store to the appropriate storage host.

You can find all of the details for the new version over here.

I hope you all find this to be a big improvement on the last release!
