Service-Now ticket integration v1.0

Well it’s been a long time coming but I’m finally happy enough with the quality and stability of the ticket integration script to confidently release v1.0 of the ticket-integration script. The new version contains a number of exciting new features and has had some rather substantial changes so be sure to read the readme!

Among those changes are:

  • sn_ticketer now knows about duplicate messages and will not repeatedly update the ticket with the same message, nor will it repeatedly open new tickets for passive alerts if the message is the same.

  • sn_ticketer can now distinguish between a host being too noisy and a single service on a particular host being too noisy.

  • sn_ticketer will now ignore already suppressed hosts/services as it tries to calculate if it should be suppressing all messages from a particular host or  when determining if it should be suppressing everything.

I don’t expect there will be any more updates forth-coming on this particular plugin for a while as I’ll be starting work on a new project in the next couple of weeks that should hopefully be equally useful! Thanks to everyone who provided feedback!
